F-84E Thunderjets of the 86th FBG

AeroMaster Productions has released two new decals sheets for the F-84E Thunderjet in 1/48 scale. There are 3 very striking schemes on sheet 48-609 and the colourful 86th FBG Commanders aircraft on 48-608.

The instruction sheets are beautifully printed in colour, and these are worth having just for the printing. 48-608 has all views of the aircraft.

In 48-608 a correction sheet has been provided to correct the original sheet, which was printed before the decal sheet was finalised. Because of the amount of colour decals provided, AeroMaster advise to use the kit decals for the insignias, stencils and antiglare panel. Including these on the sheets would have pushed the price up for a third sheet of decals to be included.

The decal sheets are clearly printed and in perfect register. The colours are sharp and the decal film is very fine.

These decals will be a very good replacement for the Revell-Monogram F84E.

Aeromaster recommends that the decals be used only on the Revell-Monogram kit as the decals may not fit the Tamiya F84G.

Details for each sheet are as follows:

48-608 1/48 F84E Thunderjets Pt 1

This sheet contains the 86th FBG commanders aircraft. The scheme is a very colour scheme using the standard 86th red and white checker tail fin and horizontal stabilisers, but has a multi colour red, yellow and blue checker nose and tip tanks.

The aircraft also has the same colours in stripes on a white background that wraps around the fuselage. Details of the pilot, the location, and the date are provided for this aircraft, including peculiar paint details for the aircraft.

48-609 1/48 F84E Thunderjets Pt 2

This sheet contains an aircraft from the 525th, (blue and white tip tank and nose checkers), the 526th, (red and white tip tank and nose checkers), and the 527thth, (yellow and black tip tank and nose checkers.

All three aircraft have the standard 86FBG tail markings with the red and white tail checkers. Details of the location and the date are provided for each aircraft, including peculiar details for each aircraft.
