48-617 is the third sheet to cover the A-26 Invader in AeroMaster’s Best Sellers series.

Markings are provided for three aircraft.

RB-26C, serial number 44-35581 from the 363rd Tactical Reconnaissance Wing out of Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina in 1954.

Finish is overall gloss black with a flat black anti-glare and red and white chequers covering the top and bottom of the vertical stabilizer.   The markings consist of:

·        The red and white chequers for the fin and rudder.  These markings are provided as left and right hand sides – four decals in all.  'Spare' individual red and white chequers are provided in case you need to fill in any gaps.

·        U.S. AIR FORCE titles and serial number for the fin, and buzz numbers for the fuselage.RB-26C, 44-35651 “Hot Ta Go” of the 12th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, 3rd Bomb Group as it appeared at Kimpo Air Base Korea in 1953.

Finish is overall gloss black with a flat black anti-glare.  Markings consist of:

  • U.S. AIR FORCE titles and serial number for the fin as well as buzz numbers for the fuselage.
  • Nose art consisting of a bikini-clad girl ringed by fire and the words 'Hot Ta Go' in red and white.

Last but by no means least is B-26B, serial number 44-34698 “The 7th Chadwick” of the 13th Bomb Squadron, 3rd Bomb Group as it appeared in Korea during April/May 1952.

Finish is overall gloss black with the entire nose and forward fuselage in red.  The use of red extends to the fin tip as well as the tips of the wings and horizontal stabilizers – so much for camouflage!  The markings consist of:

  • U.S. AIR FORCE titles and serial number for the fin and rudder as well as buzz numbers for the fuselage.
  • Nose art consisting of a reclining nude with the words 'Stateside Dream' in white for the left hand side of the nose and a squadron insignia consisting of a grim reaper for the right hand side.
  • The name 'The 7th Chadwick' in white for the left hand side of the nose.
  • Further squadron insignia consisting of a winged wheel for the top of the fin.

A single set of national insignia and USAF titles are supplied for all three options.  The nation insignia is supplied in three parts, the white 'star and bar' with the red of the bars as separate pieces.  There are two sets of red propeller warning stripes and two and a half sets of propeller blade stencils and Hamilton Standard propeller logos.  Apart from the propeller markings, there is no stencil data provided.

The decals themselves have been 'Printed in Mexico'.  They are glossy, in perfect register and have a minimum of decal film surrounding each design.

The placement guide is in Aeromaster’s normal double-sided A-4 sheet which gives full-colour side profiles as well as plan-views the wings.  The decal sheet and placement guide come packed in a clear plastic zip-loc bag.

The suggested kit is the Revell/Monogram one.

Another nice sheet from AeroMaster.

Recommended.
