Aussie
Decals has released a new sheet in 1/72 scale for Australian B-24 Liberators.
The subjects are:
-
a B-24M, A72-166 GR-X of 24 Sqn, Balikpapan, 1945. This aircraft has a large
black chevron on the rudder and nose art comprising a Kookaburra sitting on a
Boomerang superimposed over a yellow map of Australia. It is a shame they
couldn't squeeze on a few more national icons!
-
a B-24L, A72-151, SJ-M of 25 Sqn, Corruna Downs, Western Australia, 1945.
This aircraft has a Black Swan painted on the outside of each fin.
-
a B-24J, A-72-33, of 7 OTU at Tocumwal, NSW, 1945.
The decals are perfectly printed with very thin-looking carrier film.
Instructions are supplied on a double sided, black and white sheet. Each side
of all three subjects are illustrated.
Aussie Decals' new Liberator release offers some interestingly different
subjects for modellers wanting to build Academy's B-24s.
Recommended.
Thanks to Peter
