Cutting Edge Decals has released a new set of markings for the excellent Revell 1/32 scale Heinkel He 162.

Five Heinkel He 162A-2s are covered - three German and two captured British examples.

Specific subjects are as follows:

• White 1, Lt Rudolf Schmitt, Claimed Typhoon kill, 24 Apr 45;

• Air Ministry 61, W.Nr. 120072, Surrendered at Leck, Oct., 1945

• Yellow 6, W.Nr. 120235, formerly 3./JG 1, Leck, May, 1945;

• Air Ministry 67, W.Nr. 120098

• White 5, W.Nr. 120089, 3./JG 1, April, 1945.

This set comes with full-colour, double-sided letter sized placement instructions and an accompanying monochrome sheet with additional notes and a bibliography; plus paint suggestions for Xtracolor, Floquil, Polly Scale, Gunze, Tamiya, Model Master and even ProModeler.

In addition to the markings illustrated on the instruction sheet, Cutting Edge supplies an alternative shield decal for 1./JG 1 with a yellow background, and a yellow arrow for White 5.  The instructions are also quite frank about the variations in camouflage colours on these aircraft, stating that Heinkel He 162s might have been finished in any two-colour combination of 81, 82, 83, 70 and 71 on the upper surfaces, or even a single colour. Feel free to call on your artistic side!

The decals are perfectly printed, thin, in register and with a minimum of carrier film.

Cutting Edge's 1/32 scale Heinkel He 162 markings will provide some welcome variety for the finish of this excellent new kit.
