Aviation Usk's 1/72 scale decal sheet for the Heinkel He 219A includes markings for the following four aircraft:

  • G9+TH of 1/NJG1 - G9+TH has black undersurfaces with high demarcation, RLM 75 mottle over RLM 76 upper surfaces.

  • G9+DH of 1/NJG1 - G9+DK has a black starboard lower wing and engine. The upper surface is RLM 76 and 75 mottle extending halfway down the fuselage sides.

  • G9+DK of 2/NJG1 - This aircraft has an extra close-range aerial array on the nose

  • D5+CL of 3/NJG1 - Equipped with stern aerial.

The decals are generally well printed but the sheet features an overall coat of film, requiring the individual markings to be carefully cut off the backing sheet.

The sheet also has register problems with red and black. This only affects the two badges for G9-DK. This problem could probably be fixed by careful trimming. If I already had the set I would use these badges but otherwise I would look for a better registered sheet.

Thanks to Aviation Usk for the review sample.
