Advantages: Interesting subjects; thin, flexible and strong; individually silk screen printed; good instructions; perfect register on most sheets.
Disadvantages: Printing on 48127 a tad soft

Model Alliance has released seven decal sheets as a follow on to their Profile book on the Canberra (number 7).

All of the aircraft featured in the Profile are featured on these seven sheets and to my mind are quite logically broken down into Squadron Markings as a separate sheet, the Roundels as a separate sheet and the numbers ect as a separate sheet. This allows the modeler to purchase any or all of the sheets depending on their need or indeed budget.

If all of the sheets are purchased a stunning 23 aircraft could be produced.

The Decal Sheets

Sheet 48127

This sheet contains all the Squadron Codes and crests and logos needed for any of the aircraft featured in the Canberra profile produced by Model Alliance. The printing on this sheet is just a tad soft which is a real shame.

Sheet 489026

This sheet contains the entire day glow decals you need for the aircraft featured in the profile and are printed to a very high standard. This sheet could be used for other aircraft.

Sheet 489025

This sheet contains black letters and numbers of medium height and is printed to a high standard.

Sheet 489027

This sheet contains the roundels and fin flashes in 2 styles and is printed to a reasonable standard (some of the fin flashes are slightly out of register)

Sheet 489024

This sheet contains black letters and numbers of a large height and is printed to a high standard.

Sheet 489022

This sheet contains white letters and numbers of a large height and is printed to a high standard.

Sheet 4890233

This sheet contains white letters and numbers of medium height and is printed to a high standard.

 

 

Conclusion

 

This Decal sheet is a welcome addition for either the Aeroclub or the forthcoming Classic Airframes kit. If you are a Canberra fan I would recommend it. My only reservation is on some of the sheets the printing process lets them down a little, this however is only a minor point and I would still recommend them.
