Advantages: Interesting subjects; good selection of markings and variants; excellent printing ie, perfect register, excellent full-colour instructions with notes and four views for each subject; good colour density and minimum carrier film.

Model Alliance focuses on an interesting variation on the Royal Navy theme with their recent release, Senior Service Hawker Hunters.

The decal sheet includes markings for eight Hawker Hunters, both single seaters and twin-sticks. I particularly like the pointy-nosed T.Mk.8 two-seater in overall grey

Specifically, the subjects are:

  • GA Mk.11 XE689/895 764 NAS Lossiemouth 1970;

  • GA Mk.11 XE685/861 FRADU Yeovilton 1980s;

  • T Mk.8C XL584 Flag Oficer Navy Flying Training 1967 Roundel blue/white;

  • T Mk.8C XF985/811 759 NAS Brawdy; XL580/743 Airwork ADTU 1970; Overall high speed silver with day-glo panels

  • T Mk.8C WV396/748 Heron Station Flt 1970s. Overall high speed silver with day-glo panels;

  • T Mk.8M XL580 as 717 1985 Extra Dark Sea Grey and White or 723 1992 Extra Dark Sea Grey . 899 NAS Yeovilton

Instructions are first rate. They are supplied as a six page, stapled booklet with side and top views of all 11 subjects. Each profile includes notes on the service of the aircraft and available kits and/or conversions in 1/72 and 1/48 scales.

The decals themselves are beautifully printed and in perfect register. Colours look good.

This is another high quality and interesting release from Model Alliance.
