Model Alliance carries on their
quest to comprehensively cover British aircraft in both the RAF and the Senior
Service with this new release, "UK Air Arm Update 2005-2006 Part 1".. These decals are available in
either 1/48 scale and 1/72 scales, but we are examining the 1/48 scale sample
here.
The subjects cover a
good
selection of aircraft types in recent and current RAF and RN service. A nice variety of camouflage and markings is
offered on the decal sheet. It is especially pleasing to see the option for the
Eurofighter Typhoon, appropriate for the excellent new Revell kit, and for the
Belcher Bits Bell 412EP Griffin conversion.
Specifically, the subjects are:
-
Harrier GR.7A ZD349 800 NAS;
-
Harrier GR.9A ZG478 FJWOCU 2005 or 41(R) Sqn 2006;
-
Sea
Harrier FA2 ZH796 601 NAS Yeovilton 2006 Last Sea Harrier scheme;
-
Eurofighter Typhoon F.2 ZJ918 QO-L 3(F) Sqn 2006;
-
Tornado F.3 ZG772 WJ 56(R) Sqn Firebirds display aircraft 2005;
-
Tornado F.3 ZH554 41(R) Sqn 2006;
-
Tornado GR.4 ZD739 FJWOCU 2005 or 41(R) Sqn 2006;
-
Jaguar
GR.3A XZ103 41(F) Sqn End of an Era Coltishall 2006;
-
Bell
412EP Griffin ZJ704 84 Sqn RAF Akrotiri 2005
Instructions are first rate.
They are supplied as a six page, stapled booklet with side and top views of all
11
subjects. Each profile includes notes on the service of the aircraft and
available kits and/or conversions in 1/72 and 1/48 scales.
The decals themselves are
beautifully printed and in perfect register. Colours look good.
This is another high quality
and interesting release of a whole swag of popular subjects in
RAF and Royal Navy service.
Highly Recommended.
