Model Alliance has produced 2 x
1/48 scale Jaguar decal sheets depicting some of the special schemes this
aircraft has adopted in the early part of 2005.
The marking on some are quite
spectacular and would look outstanding on a 1/48 scale model. All of the special
markings are based on the two tone grey schemes that the Jaguar now wears in its
twilight years of service.

Sheet
489016 Part 1
-
The
first Aircraft is XX117 of 16 Squadron based out of Coltshall in 2005. It
sports a 2 tone grey scheme with a black and gold tail fin with the squadron
crest and a neat little “saint “ logo on the tail fin.
-
The
Second aircraft is XZ112 of 54 Squadron again based out of Coltshall in
2005. It also sports the 2 tone grey scheme with a yellow tail bordered in
dark royal blue. With a dragon crest on the lower half of the fin. It also
sports blue and yellow check boards on the upper half of the tail fin and
again on the air intake. This would make a stunning model in my opinion
Sheet 489017 part 2
-
The
first aircraft is XX112 of 6 Squadron based out of Coltshall in 2005. It
sports the 2 tone grey scheme with a blue tailfin boarded in red. It also
sports a squadron crest and an honor roll on its tail fin.
-
The
last aircraft is XF103 of 41 Squadron based out of Coltshall in 2005.
It also sports the 2 tone grey scheme with a white tail boarded in black and
a stylized cross in red on it’s tail.
These releases from Model Alliance
are welcome accessories for the Airfix Jaguar kit. I only wish someone like
Hasegawa or Tamyia would do a kit of the Jaguar in 1/48 as it is, in my opinion,
one of the most handsome aircraft in service today.
Recommended.
