When these were
first advertised all I could think was, “now I have to buy another Hawk” because
the scheme looked so good. Now that I have the decal sheet in front of me to
review this fear has turned to reality.
The guys at the Aviation Workshop have done a great job on the artwork. Markings
are supplied for the 2 schemes applied to XX172 St Athan Station Flight. The
first is in the red/blue/grey/white scheme with the black dragon in 1995 while
the second is the all over black scheme with the red dragon in 2001.
Colour four view plans are supplied but if further details are required a list
of references is also supplied, including the excellent On Target Profile No3
BAe Hawk in Worldwide Service by Jon Freeman which contains a full page spread
on each scheme.
The decals are beautifully silk screen individually printed by Colourslide. The
colours are in perfect register with each roundel centre separate. They are very
thin and flexible, but also very strong.
I highly recommend these decals to anyone wishing to build those out of the
ordinary schemes.
Highly Recommended
