Earlier this year, Data Decals released a set of decals for Trumpeter's
1/32 scale MiG-3. A new set is now available for even more variety.
Data
Decals presents another interesting selection of colour schemes and markings for late-version
MiG-3s.
Specific
subjects are
-
"White 12" with overall green upper surfaces
and an unusually large star on the fin
-
"Black 36" in a winter whitewash scheme with
replacement panels and a red star on the tip of the spinner. This star is
sensibly supplied as separate decals for each "point", with a few spares
thrown in for good measure.
-
"Yellow 27" This interesting MiG is finished
in "tiger stripes" which are probably two shades of green
-
"White 44" in Black and Green disruptive
camouflage
-
"White 64" Overall green upper surfaces with
patchy dark green overspray; and big underwing stars
Instructions comprise a double-sided A4 colour diagram sheet and a second A4
page with a text description of each aircraft, modelling tips and a list of
references. The colour illustrations include very helpful plan and profile
views..
The decals are well printed and in perfect register. This is especially
important for the option with a narrow white outline to the red star.
Data Decals' second release lives up to the high quality of their earlier
offering, and provides even more interesting options for Trumpeter's big MiG-3.
Recommended.
