Red Roo Models has released decals for the Bristol Bulldog
in RAAF service in both 1/72 and 1/48 scales.
The decals are excellent, the instructions are excellent, what more do you
want, apart from a state of the art model to put them on?
The side profiles in the instructions are so good I almost ran out to buy an
old Airfix kit. Almost, I said. They are good though, with a clarity and
detail that a lot of other decal manufacturers could learn from.
The decals are for two aircraft but that doesn’t mean you can do both, as
there is only one set of national markings. However there are two sets of
serials, A12-1 and A12-2. Of course each of these planes only have ten
markings on them in total so there’s not a lot of decalling to be done but
what there is, is very good.
My only real criticism is the lack of a really good model to put the decals
on.
So, if you’re the kind of modeller who doesn’t mind having a go at an older
model, or perhaps you have an 1/48 scale Lindberg or SMER Bulldog, or the
1/72 scale Airfix kit in the loft just begging to be built, then here are
the decals to turn them into a silk purse.
