Australian decal manufacturers are just getting better and better considering that most of their custom would be local with only a small amount going overseas. Yet the quality is up there with the best from O.S. Not only is the decal quality very good but the instructions are excellent also. Once upon a time, we used to get hand drawn diagrams which did the job but weren't very pretty to look at and certainly didn't inspire you to build a particular aircraft. Now we can expect full colour computer generated art-work thats very professional and attractive.

And so it is with this post-war Wirraway sheet from Red Roo Models covering four aircraft, two RAN, one RAAF and a restored example in the same markings as the RAAF aircraft. All necessary marking are present on the sheet for all four aircraft however the large aircraft numbers and the word Navy for the two Navy aircraft are the wrong size. This is pointed out in the instructions and an extra sheet with the correct sized markings is supplied. All we need now is an easy to build and accurate Wirraway to put them on. Hmm?

The second set, RAAF and RAN serial numbers for both WWII and post-war aircraft, is something you can't have enough off. They come in three colours, black, grey and white and in several styles and include the letter N for RAN aircraft post-war. The simple instruction sheet just tells you how to apply them as you would expect.

Like many others in this industry, the people at Red Roo are enthusiasts and so we get a superior product.
