This latest sheet from Two Bobs is meant for the nice and new, but sadly out of production at this time, Sword 1/48 T-38A Talon. I do hear rumblings that Sword will be reissuing this kit soon but please take that comment as a rumor only. Nothing has been confirmed officially as of yet. I am sure the decals can be used on your Fujimi/Testors kit as well.

Now on to the decals.

There are markings for three T-38s on this sheet. Two of them are painted Black while the third is painted FS36118 Gunship Grey. The markings are for the 9th RW out of Beale AFB . It is an all Black T-38 with red markings. I have seen photos of the T-38s based at Beale and they are quite attractive. The second aircraft on the sheet is another all Black painted jet from the 7th CTS based out of Holloman AFB, New Mexico. This one has grey markings.  The last choice is for a T-38 from the 509th BW. This one is painted in a very smart looking scheme of FS36118 overall. The markings are all Grey.

The sheet contains complete markings, including stencils for all three aircraft. So for those of you that have three T-38s waiting to be built and painted, this sheet has you covered. My sheet is in perfect register and has nearly zero carrier film. The instructions are in color and contain several photos of the aircraft depicted.

So in conclusion, if you want an all black or grey T-38 on your shelf, this is the sheet for you. In all honesty for me at least, this sheet while presented in Two Bobs usual attractive form falls short of what I call exciting. This is not the fault of Two Bobs but rather the use of all black and all grey on present marked Talons. This of course is just my opinion. I like a lot of color. Other than my own personal feelings on the choice of markings on this sheet it is still another great sheet from Two Bobs. You do get some very nice decals as well as their usual very well laid out instruction sheet.

Recommended.
