Xtradecals has released a decal sheet which will be ideal for the new Xtrakit 1/72 scale Gloster Meteor F.8.

Seventeen aircraft are covered on this busy decal sheet. These subjects reflect the colourful fuselage markings of the period, when many RAF fighters were adorned with bars, checks, diamonds and more. Several of the subjects include even more striking markings, such as yellow tails and lightning bolts.

The decals are accompanied by attractive, full-colour instructions. Three small plan view diagrams accompany the seventeen profiles.

All subjects are UK based RAF aircraft, and feature full serial on both wing undersides and code letter on the nose wheel door:

  • WA826/F or WL135 of 245 Sqn;

  • WA852/J of 257 Sqn;

  • WK872/X of 247 Sqn;

  • WA893/C of 263 Sqn;

  • WF654/R 64 Sqn;

  • VZ547/B or 4D-B;

  • WK403/V 56 Sqn;

  • WA794/X 43 Sqn;

  • WE876 Church Fento Station Flt;

  • WH263/N 616 Sqn;

  • WH378/N 54 Sqn;

  • WH476/T 89 Sqn;

  • WK681/H 65 Sqn Team;

  • WE947/L 1 Sqn

The decal sheet is perfectly printed, with the multitude of colours all in register. Decal film appears to be very thin.

There are no national markings or stencils supplied with this decal sheet, but the items provided in the Xtrakit Meteor F.8 boxings will be perfectly adequate for this purpose.

This is a colourful and interesting release that will be welcomed by anyone building Xtrakit's new 1/72 scale Meteor F. Mk.8.
